About Frisco

Frisco, Texas, just 20 minutes north of Dallas, is one of the fastest growing cities in America and is Texas’ Rising Star for sports, shopping, art and entertainment. The City of Frisco is home to Pizza Hut Park, the first large scale soccer facility of its type in the United States as well as four professional sports teams including The Frisco RoughRiders baseball, FC Dallas soccer, the Dallas Stars home office and official practice facility and the NBA-D League Frisco, the minor league affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks. And, don’t forget about our exceptional golf courses: The Trails of Frisco Golf Club, Plantation Golf Club and the Westin Stonebriar hosts the Tom Fazio 18-hole championship golf course. Frisco also offers some of the best shopping in Texas with a regional mall like Stonebriar Centre, IKEA (one of only three in Texas!) and numerous fashionable boutiques.

Frisco is also known for its passion for art! Outdoor sculptures celebrating the history of Frisco can be found throughout the city. The largest private collection of contemporary outdoor sculpture on public display without a fee can be found in Hall Office Park (all owned by Craig Hall) with works by James Surls, Frances Bagley and Isaac Smith. Exceptional Frisco hotel accommodations include: Embassy Suites, The Westin Stonebriar Resort, Hampton Inn and Suites, Holiday Inn Express, Homewood Suites, Holiday Inn Stonebriar, The Sheraton, Hilton Garden Inn, Aloft and Comfort Suites. Frisco is located north of Downtown Dallas just 25 minutes from DFW International Airport and Love Field Airport.

Because many are choosing to plant roots in the Frisco area, Frisco ISD is at the top of the fastest growing school districts in the state and nation growing by 10-30 percent annually the past 12 years. FISD ended the 2008-2009 school year with approximately 31,000 students. The district grew by a little more than 10 percent this year; as of October 1, 2009, there are 33,895 students enrolled.

As the school district grows in size, so does its commitment to excellence and its focus on providing the best learning opportunities for students. Test scores continue to improve and are well above the state and national averages. More than 75 percent of our seniors take one or more of the college entrance exams, and approximately 90 percent of our graduating seniors plan to continue their education following high school. Graduating classes continue to earn millions of dollars in scholarships to further their education. Click here http://www.friscoisd.org/ to learn more about the outstanding Frisco ISD.
